Spoiled Rotten Dog

Walter is our spoiled rotten dog. We have had trouble with him getting out of the back yard, he pushes on the fence door until it opens and then he goes and sits on the front porch. There were several days I came home to find notes attached to the front door saying "we have Walter, come to #### (street name) Drive, we didn't want him to get hurt or picked up my the dog catcher." We decided we couldn't keep taking the risk that Walter would get out again, so we started taking him to work with us. He stayed in the back of the shop in a big cage that once housed a large machine. It actually says "cage" on it. He didn't mind it at first, but then loneliness set in. He would howl all day long. It broke every one's heart. We let him run around at break time and at lunch, but that wasn't good enough. He eventual broke out. One of the shipping guys always makes stuff up about Walter... one day he stole his sandwich and then on another day he supposedly ate a page out of his book. He might be joking, but he has no idea how capable Walter really is. So guess where Walter spent his day after feeling sorry for him not wanting to be in a big cage? Believe it or not, the two tubes crossing each other kept him in the office cubical. Can you believe his grandpa wasn't thrilled to have his precious grandson running around his shop? He was on his best behavior too! We think he will make a great guard dog, he could run around the shop barking at people who aren't working. Walter wants his grandpa to give him a more permanent job. He's working on his resume.

Annual Auto Show Tradition

Since we live so close to the motor city, and Adam loves cars more than just about anything else, we have to go to the auto show every year. I think this is my third year. I will be lucky if I only have to go once this year. Last year we went to the auto show in Detroit, Chicago, and Florida. It was soo boring by the third time. But it was a lot of fun this year. Leah was a perfect angel, and I remembered to bring candy for myself, but not enough, next year I will bring more.

Here is the After

The pottery we made this weekend turned out pretty cute. I wish I could take credit for the really cute plate, but everyone who knows me, knows my hand writting doesn't look that good. Kristen and Katya's pottery turned out pretty cute too, but I think they had intentions to give them to someone as a surprise, so I won't post any pictures of theirs just yet.

*Rock Band

A Giant Mess

These are not the tidiest of the tidy... however, Katya folded all of her and Francie's blankets without being asked. We painted lots of pottery and played Rock Band. Here are a few pictures; the pottery has not been fired yet, so it will look way different when it's been fired.

Valentine's Projects

This weekend Rachael and I are going to make some stuff for Valentines day to sell on Rachael's ETSY store. For those of you who don't know who Rachael is, she's my sister who adopted a little girl from Russia last year. While she was in Russia, she was so touched by the other orphans who still didn't have parents that she wanted to start a christmas fund to send gifts. So a portion of the proceeds on her ETSY store go for that. This year, we are getting an early start. I just got into pottery this year, so my supply of molds is sorta limited to a degree. But I found a really nice lady in Kalamazoo who had a bunch of bisque ware, so this is what I picked up... The cups are for me Rach, but the cute plate is for you. Rachael doesn't have anything to put in her store at the moment, so its not open, but as soon as it is, I'll add a link so that anyone who's interested can see the final products.

A Few Random Thoughts

Here is what Adam and I get to look at every day, it's soo pretty, the lake freezes and thaws daily, right now it's frozen and covered with snow. Now that we have finished our living room, we spend 90% of our awake time in there. Good thing its close to the kitchen, because thats where I spend the rest of the 10% of my time, cooking and cleaning, I would be happy with just a bowl of cereal, but Adam grew up getting gourmet dinners each night, so cereal doesn't cut it. I'm also not a very skilled cook. If it was only once in awhile, I would do fine, but every night is a lot harder. I should take advice from Ms. Tolbert, she says "I know how it SHOULD be done, but that doesn't mean I'm going to do it." (She's referring to cleaning)
Mom, Thanks for my cookies, they were awsome...they still are, but I left them at home for the weekend, because I didnt trust myself not to eat them all. Sprits cookies are supposed to be a little dry, so they will be even better when I get back. Adam and I had to take seperate cars, and he was still at home, I almost called him to bring them, but I resisted, I'd already had a LOT!

If Adam had not forgotten my camera this weekend, you would get to see how crazy he is. He is off surfing Lake Michigan, in the middle of winter with a half a foot of snow on the ground, it can't be any warmer than 30 degrees right now, at the most. Here are a few pictures from last years surf season.

My Pottery Room Needs a Makeover

I've managed to drag a bunch of stuff upstairs to paint pottery, because the basements so messy I can't stand to be down there. I have this terrible tendency to save stupid things like boxes. I like little ones, big ones, long ones, I don't care what the shape is. I wonder why I do this, where did I learn this behavior?? I keep thinking I'll start an online pottery store and that I'll need them. We'll see. I'm not showing you a picture of my boxes though, thats far uglier than my messy pottery room.

Good Things and Things Gone Bad

Here's what happens when your mom doesn't make your christmas cookies anymore. My gingerbread boys look really bad, I couldn't find a cookie cutter anywhere, they were all sold out even at *wal-mart! They don't taste good either. My pottery stuff that I made last week turned out pretty good though, but unfortunately I chiped like 4 things because I dropped a piece over the shelf of the kiln.

Don't expect much from this thing

I'm not very good at this blogging, so as soon as I figure it out, I'll be back. I found my camera charger too, so now I just need something to blog about and someone to show me how this thing works. Thanks for setting it up Rach.
