Northern Michigan

This weekend Adam, myself, David and Sarah and a couple of friends from church headed north. Walter and Leah got to stay with their grandparents. I'm sure they had a great time, Walter loves to run around and chase the kitties over there. They take good care of him, we always have to convince him to come back home with us.

We weren't expecting snow this weekend, so we took the trailblazer, which was a bad idea. We ended up getting a lot of snow. We did a lot of sliding. We went skiing/snowboarding Saturday night after sundown, and had a lot of fun. The next day when we got up, it was 3 below. Crazy as we are, we decided to stick with our original plans, to go back to the ski resort. It was a terrible mistake, even though it warmed up to 1 degree, we were miserable. We had good clothes, but our goggles kept freezing up and we couldn't see, and the slopes were so cold, they had turned to ice. It hurt really bad to fall on that stuff!

At least we had a warm place to go back to. Thanks Grandma Lois for letting us stay at your house!

This is the weather we drove in all weekend. Much better suited for the Jeep.

Adam's new birthday present, (the long one in the middle). We were going to shoot them up north this weekend, but it was so cold and there was so much snow, we would have never been able to get far enough off the road with just the Trail Blazer. Adam was so excited about them that he carried them around with him, at night he lined them up next to the bed, in the morning he lined them up in the living room.

When we got home our kitties and Walter were so happy to see us. Tomorrow is a big day for the kitties, they are getting declawed and fixed. They don't know it yet, I hope they forgive us.

For those of you who are still wondering, Walter still comes to work with us every day. And Pops hasn't sent Walter back to "The Cage," keep your fingers crossed for him. As long as he is a good boy, he might be able to pull this off. On Friday we had a couple guys into the Office to talk about the health insurance benefits, they brought pizza for the whole shop. Walter managed to get his fill, but he must not have gotten exactly what he wanted because when the gentlemen passed by my desk to say goodbye, Walter starting barking...(bad dog!) He's only supposed to bark at the people who aren't working, or the ones who skip work. He's still in training, really he should get 90 days to get it right! And after that, he should go straight to salary.

I can't believe you skied in that weather. It was so cold outside this weekend that I thought my nose-hairs froze when I tried to breath walking from the car to inside the YMCA. It was downright miserable, I hope it wasn't that bad there!

I could not make out what was under the beautiful hand painted low boy server. What did Adam get for his birthday?

Walter is so lucky that he can go to work. He looks very comfy in his work area.

I remember bitter cold days skiing and know how brutal they are. I'm sure you all had a fun weekend.

The Man recognized the AR-15(?) and the shotgun, but he wants to see a better picture of the birthday present. He couldn't tell for sure what it was, but he figures it is illegal out here anyway!

OK, just saw your other comment telling what it was! I think it is illegal out here!

The Man said, "Happy Birthday to Adam! I wish I could be there to share in the joy!"

Thanks for letting me know what Adam's b-day present was.

I would be scared of having all those guns around the house. Do you guys have a gun safe? Is the new one illegal? Like you would say something about it online...
I guess it must be.

I am glad Walter is still able to go to work and not have to stay in the cage all day. That is really cool.

I no longer ski when I cannot see the tips of my skis! I used to do it a little while back when I was 15 and completely out of my mind!!!

The worst is when it gets so cold your sinuses ache!

Your Dog is sweet! Or shall I call him your fur baby as I call mine?

I love your new header! Well done. ;-)
