Robbed and Furious
Have you ever had anything stolen from you? It's a horrible feeling when you discover someone with sticky, greedy fingers has gone through your things. I always lock my car. Except for last night! The one night I don't turn on the porch lights, lock the car and have Walter at home with us, someone decides to go through my car. Walter was at my in-laws house because we were gone all day yesterday and were too tired to go pick him up when we got home. I went to bed early, long before Adam, so I didn't go through my usual lock-up routine. When my mom was single and it was just her, Francie and myself living at home, I was the "man-of-the-house." I took the trash out, killed bugs and spiders, locked the doors before bedtime every night and even checked out the house when my mom or sisters thought someone was inside...I wasn't brave, they would just trick me into going inside first, send me in to get something..."nay, will you go get my shoes, I think they are under mom's bed" where they thought they heard the noise come from. Evil, I know. But even more evil than that, is the little punk who stole my I-pod and docking station from my car last night. I'm pretty sure it was a kid because they saw what they wanted, took it and left. They didn't bother to check Adam's show Jeep that had $2500 worth of sponsor donated stereo equipment even though the windows were all open and the top was off. Funny thing is, they could have had two I-pods if they hadn't been so stupid. Adam's glove box WAS (not anymore) unlocked and had his I-pod in it. When I was telling Francie about it tonight, she was like... "oh, every time they hear a song that was on there, later in life, they will feel guilty"... I'm pretty sure they aren't going to like what I listen to enough to listen to the songs all the way through even once. Adam makes fun of the music I listen to; and I'll agree I listen to some pretty weird things. I mentioned to Francie that whoever stole my I-pod would not feel guilty, but rather say something like... "she deserved to get this thing stolen for listening to the kind of music that she does." I'm still really mad that someone stole my $300 I-pod, but even worse than that was the way I felt when I ran out to the car, running incredibly late for work, ready to quickly hop in the passengers seat next to Adam who had been waiting in the car for me, only to be stopped by a pile of junk from the glove box and center console strewn all over my seat. He thought it was MY mess, from looking for something, and I was mad that HE would pull all that stuff out and leave it sitting like that. I called the sheriff's department today, they had zero sympathy and said there was nothing they could do about it but that I was welcome to file a police report. No thanks, you'll just put it in a file; not going to waste my time. Glad we pay so much in taxes to live in this county that won't help fight crime!

Oh, Natalie, that is just terrible. So sorry to hear about it. Lock those doors!!! I bring Punkin and Lola in the mud room at night instead of leaving them outside. I really want a little dog that lives inside with me. Remember Pooxie? And how she would bark if someone came around the house?
Ah, that just sucks! Doesn't it creep you out that someone might be watching your house? The one and only night someone could have possibly gotten away with something like that and BAM!! Do criminals get lucky like that? Not trying to scare you or anything... Better tell Adam to load the guns for the next few nights. I'm just trying to spook you out. I bet it was just pure luck. It's still too bad though.
I'm not at all afraid, in fact I think the back door was unlocked. It was just a young person, probably a teenager. Believe me, the guns are loaded every night, he is fortunate that Walter wasn't here, and that he didn't come into the house. When someone comes into your house, there is no reason for hesitation. Anyone in your house, uninvited can only mean bad news. People don't break into your house to say "hey what's up." Not taking any chances.
That is a rotten shame about your Ipod's being stolen. I'm glad that it wasn't more serious.
My Streusel was a great watchdog and no one would have known by her bark that she weighed just 15 lbs. I hope that Liesel will also be a good watchdog for me.
What is the law if you shoot an intruder in your house?
Is Walter a good watchdog?
That is awful! I'm so glad you guys were safe. No more sleepovers for Walter! The watchdog needs to be home watching.
Oh that sucks. Is your music all saved on your computer? Maybe you can make do with a shuffle for awhile.
I think I'll go lock my car doors. Thanks for the reminder.
Ah Natalie, so sorry. I have had stuff like that happen to me too. Someone tried to steal my little Toyota, years ago, they only got half way down the street. Not sure what scared them off. Anyway, dont' forget, vengience is mine, says the Lord. They will get the same treatment, someone will steal from them! You know, what goes around comes around. Or is it the other way?

I hate that feeling of being so violated. I had my little honda broken into 3 times. After the second time I went and bought a fancy car alarm for it. But apparently I forgot to set the alarm and they got me a third time. All three times were at my apartment too.
Oooh I hate that! And it's always the one time you didn't lock up or put your purse in the right spot, etc. So sorry about the iPod I hope you get a replacement soon!
I know how you feel! Someone went through my car last summer, I didn't have anything valuable stolen but they did take some useful things. It's so frustrating knowing there is nothing you can do, and they probably will never pay for their crime. You just have to believe karma will take care of them somehow.
Hey there Nat, it's Teen =) So sorry. The 1st time I had something stolen from me it was just a few months ago. I was doing my watching my child-care at there home about 8:30 IN THE MORNING! I never lock up my van because the most I have in there is a few snot rags, a couple lego pieces, a couple booster seats, and maybe a few coins in the tray. Well the first time I locked mine I got my window shattered for my Bible bag. Guess they thought it was a purse. They got my Christian Daily Planner, devotional, Bible, prayer journal, my cell, and a really good mascara. Darn it. Oh well, I agree with Cathy. It's in the Lord's hands now.
