I have been really busy today making ornaments. I promised Adam's aunt last year that this year I would make her ornaments for her Christmas party. Her theme is supposed to be a more Victorian style, with the pinks, golds and maroons. As you can see in the second picture I strayed from the color pallet just a little. I might have to make more that go better with the theme. She said I could use a little of the blues and greens, but I don't think they are the right shades. That's ok though, because I'm supposed to be making lots of ornaments really fast for an art fair Rachael and I might join in November. We still have not made up our minds. But I have lots of family that would love an ornament if the art fair doesn't work out. The second to last picture shows the mug I poured using the mold I made. It turned out pretty good. Looks better than some of the other things I have poured.
The last picture demonstrates what happens when you don't clean up after yourself or along the way. It's in the basement though, so it's ok. No one has to see it but me and the kitties.

I was also busy today painting baseboards. Adam and I are trying to get everything done in the house that we've put off for so long. While Adam was putting in a small piece of the baseboard... using the air compressed nail gun, he managed to put a nail through two of his fingers. I guess it's pretty painful, something I would recommend trying to avoid at all costs. I felt very sorry for him. But it got me out of having to keep working. I went to the craft store and when I got back several hours later, Adam had finished the hallway. I don't think he will be doing that tomorrow though, his fingers are getting pretty big. I can't talk him into getting a tetanus shot, he thinks he is fine. Sure hope he changes his mind.

Beautiful and Ouch!! Your decorations are just perfect! How fun to have a space to spread out and make a mess and not worry. And your husband should see a doctor! That does not sound like a good idea not to. Hope he changes his mind.
I love those ornaments! So pretty!
... too bad about Adam's fingers. Owww. That sucks. But at least you got a break. Haha. :-)
How pretty!
A certain someone in this household put a nail through the palm of his hand many years ago. He should definitely get a tetanus booster, maybe even an antibiotic. Ouch!
aww they are so pretty! i love making christmas ornaments! We did it one year when we were kids and my mom gave them to all our family and they still have them on their trees! So much fun! poor adams fingers!
Ornaments - gorgeous
Nails through finger - ooohhhhh
Tetnus shot - yes
The ornaments look great, Nat! I just fired a big batch last night. If you come this weekend, we can make some more!
Nay, those look so awesome! I tried calling you all weekend about how big the waves were and you never called me back! Oh, and guess what I ate yesterday? Tortillas and salsa! Ok, well, hope you come over this weekend, we ALL miss you lots!
The ornaments are beautiful!!! I love them. I hope Adam's fingers start feeling better soon. That sounds very painful. And, of course, as his second mom, I think he should get a tetus shot.
The ornaments are just adorable. Wish I lived closer, I would love to join in the fun of making them.
Oh well.
Yes, Adam should get a tetanus shot, but trying to get a guy to do what he is suppose to..well...
Those ornaments look perfect. Send your blog address to Aunt Stella and let her look at them. I think they would be just what she wants.
Please tell Adam to get to the Dr. tomorrow. Let us know what we can do to help some evening next week.
Nat I love the second picture of ornaments, you can give them to me if they arent't the right color for Adam's Aunt.
The mug mold actually worked huh? I was wondering how hard it would be to make it only go exactly halfway up the side of the cup. Now you can make all kinds of molds.
Tell Adam he really should get a Tetanus shot, he has 72 hours to get it. If he just refuses, lets hope it was a nice clean nail.
Cool! Can't wait to see my mug!! :-) And no, you probably wouldn't of liked that video... it is good though. :-)
Read the comment I just left on Lori's blog tonight. You'll get a kick out of it.
