Multi Tasking at Work

On Friday Walter and I had an extra cubical mate: Leah. My sister-in-law had to leave early for the women's retreat, so she dropped Leah off at the office with David. She was just so cute that I had to let her sit with me. I let David feed her and change diapers, but handled the naps and playing myself. She and Walter got along really good until Leah got tired. I cradled her while I typed one handed on the computer, and she literally closed her eyes in seconds. She is the easiest baby I have ever known! When Kristen was only a month old I lived with Rachael and Derrick to help out during the day while they were at work, I used to have to rock Kristen for EVER to get that girl to sleep. I even had to use the vacuum occasionally to get her to sleep - she like that for some reason. We once ran the vacuum for 3 hours while she slept like an angel. I guarantee she would have woken up the moment we turned it off. So trying to get Leah to sleep while getting something done at work was hardly challenging. One of the guys at work thought Leah looked like the cutest little paper weight sitting in that pink chair! I have to agree she makes a good office accessory. She made everyone really happy, I'm totally fine with that!

Walter has sure turned out to be a good dog. He is so gentle. Leah is adorable. I bet it was fun to have Leah there with you.

I want to work where you do - a dog and a cute baby!

What type of business do your in-law's own? I forgot to ask your mom. Don't mention it on the blog but just get my email address from Rachel or your mom. I don't want to put it on the blog.

Puppy update: She is on my lap resting her head and front paws on my left arm as I type. I cannot sit at the computer without holding her as he has a FIT and will keep trying to climb up my leg. I need a baby sling for her. She is definitely a lap dog so it's a good thing that she's going to be a small dog and not like Walter.

Walter sure is a gentle, sweet dog.

It doesn't look like you'd get a lot of actual work done with those two babies there at your desk!

I thought Madeline was the easiest baby:)'

I'm just giving you a hard time. I always wonder what life would be like if I ever had another baby. HMMH... that would not be good! first of all, I would need you to live next door again so you could help me and my chances of having another easy baby are probably not good.

I was just talking to Lori the other day and I mentioned a few things she should try. It was funny when I told her because it was followed with the confession that you had to teach me a few things when Madeline was a baby. Kristen really broke you in. by the time you and Adam have your own you'll be a pro.

I think Leah gives babies a good reputation. Tony on the other hand is a bit more challenging to keep happy. It takes a lot more than a happy chair and a dog I'll tell you that much. But then again, I think you only tell me about Leah's good times, I'm sure Leah has her trying moments too.

Did you get any work done?

Does Kristen still need some kind of noise to sleep? I have to have a fan going, summer or winter, I have to take one with me if I go anywhere. I never know what is going on in my neighborhood either. My neighbor does, she lets me know if there has been any trouble.
So, you have lots of experience with kids...you will make a wonderful mom.

In the first picture of Leah where she is looking up, I see her grandma in her.
