One hurt foot from an ice skate this winter.
Yesterday while he was playing outside at work during break time, a couple of guys were throwing a football back and forth. Walter thought it was great so he chased it back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth for about 9 min. solid. Well I noticed once we got back inside he was licking his feet really fast. I thought that was strange, so I checked the bottom of his foot...you won't believe this unless you've heard of it; he riped off the pad of his foot! It was so shocking to me. I checked his other feet and sure enough the back one was the same way. The other two had tears but were not completely riped open. I had to wrap his monsters up really good so that hopefully they won't get infected ($$$). He was in soo much pain this morning when we got to work I had to lift him out of the car and set him on the ground...he's 80 pounds, that was not easy! It seemed to be gettin worse this evening. When I went to change his bandages he ran in the basement and hid from me so that I wouldn't touch his feet. He hurt so bad he pee'd a little on me by accident when I touched his back leg. I was able to get his foot wrapped back up with a lot of antibiotic ointment and ace bandages before we had to leave for awhile. When we got home he was walking on his foot again, so I think the ointment might have helped. He went to be early all by himself though (upstairs). There was a customer at work today who asked if our dog was really old. He's barely 2 years old and still very puppy like. I hope he gets better soon!

Poor, poor Walter! The running back and forth on the pavement must have done it. You're doing the right thing for him.
OUCH. Poor Walter.
That just makes me so sad! Poor thing! You'll have to keep us updated on his injuries!
For having the good life, Walter sure seems to find a few bumps. Do you remember our dog, Brutus? When he was a puppy he and Punkin would go for a walk in the morning with Bob and I and the poor little chubby boy wore his little pads off the bottom of his two front feet and he hobbled to the front porch to lay down instead of continuing his walk that he looked forward to every morning. I hope Walter gets better soon. I just love Walter. He is so spoiled.
Walter is feeling much better. I don't think he will need any medicine this time...thank goodness! He is so very spoiled! If he decides to leave his cubical at work, no one says anything, he usually wanders back eventually. Most people pack their lunches now with Walter in mind because they all want him to like what they give him.
I'm glad Walter is feeling better. Poor dog, he sure does seem to get hurt a lot.
Walter is probably the only one who looks forward to going to work everyday. Lucky Dog. Don't you wish you got that excited about going to work?
I know what you mean about being envious of him napping all day. When I was a nurses aid in the hospital I used to be jealous of the patients because they got to lay in bed and watch TV and I had to work.
BTW I got the envelope you sent me, all torn up and inside another envelope from the post office with a stamp on it that said contents not inside. I guess the collar didn't make it. Sorry, I was really looking forward to it too.
maybe you should have his feet sized for shoes like they do for horses. then his feet wont get so hurt all the time. ha.
So sad for Walter. I think someone in your family should knit him some booties to wear. I know you and Francie know how to crochet etc. You guys are so talented when it comes to crafts.
Shaq, God rest his puppy soul, use to do the same thing to his paws. I should of had animal insurance for him. Broken jaw...$350.00, stomach pumped after eating 100 used stridex pads...$275.00, torn ear from rose bush....$250.00. Do they even charge that much for a stitching humans?
Liesel LOVES her pretty, handmade dish for her dry food. It's the perfect size since she'll stay a little dog. Thank you so much!
That's so sad! :(
Poor thing!
