My mom, my sisters Rachael, Francie, Lori and myself have made a bet with each other that could end up costing me a hundred bucks. Whoever looses the most weight in percentage by the 4th of July gets a hundred bucks from each of us. Adam must have a lot of faith in me, he keeps asking me what I'm going to do with all that money. Apparently he doesn't know me that well; granted we've only been married less than a year (I don't diet/exercise very consistently). Thankfully though, my lack of direction forced me to run longer than anticipated. I've lived here almost a year and I got lost less than 6 miles from my house. I knew the general direction that home was, but I couldn't find a street that would take me there. Every time I ran down a street, it dead ended or looped around. For you big athletes, six miles might not seem like a lot, but it is when you've only jogged up to 3 miles at a time, a couple of times a week, for only a few weeks in the past couple of years.
Along with my lack of directions, I'm math challenged. I had to try the numbers several ways and then confirm with Adam the correct way to calculate weight loss percentage. Here's what we came up with: [1-(new wt/old wt.)].
I'm not sure what my chances are, but now I'm curious, so I'm done here for now so that I can spend some time with Excel to figure that out. Hope everyone is doing good, because that is ultimately the goal; the money just makes it easier to get there.

How do you know you ran 6 miles if you got lost? Because I'm sure you weren't able to retrace your steps in the car?
BTW- I think you might be more directionally challenged than me.
Wow. I better step it up a notch!
Actually, I have lost 3# this week. But, I had help. I came down with the kids sickness yesterday. I hope I can keep it off though.
I thought I had done good with losing 4 pounds. It will be interesting to see how much we lose in the second week. I'd be surprised if we continued losing that much. So far, I'm losing the contest based on the weight you and Rachael lost the first week. I'll keep trying.
I am glad to see so much enthusiasm with weight loss. (Money has a way of doing that.)
I tried slim fast, a while back, didn't lose a pound.
I am going to have to start running. But first, I have to start walking to get my stamina up.
Corey is training for a 26 mile run in Boston next year. I plan on flying out for that.
Keep up the good work.
Better you then me... I'm still rebelling from basic training.
Good job! I accidentally ran 17 miles once when I thought it was 12. It was painful. i wasn't ready for that. I hate being lost. I suppose it's good for our exercise habits though. Nice work.
