New Beds

When I was little we had a "looking room" it had white carpet, a white couch and mom's piano. It was the forbidden room. We just looked at it, so that it would always stay clean for company, because it was the first thing they saw when they walked into the house. My living room is not a looking room, but it could be because we never use it, we never go in there and it's the first thing you see when you walk into the house. But my kittys won't stay out. So when we know we are having company, we have to vacuum the cushions or pull the sheets off of the couches. I thought if I bought them both their own bed and put it in the window where the sun shines that they would stay off my white furniture. So far, so good. They seem to love their new beds. Ellie (the white one) especially loves hers. She sleeps in it all day long. Dea, the little devil still has a seat on the couch once in awhile, but not as much. I think she likes her new bed but she feels she has to remind me she's the boss.
Walter's bed is not new, he got that this summer while we were camping in Holland, but he's so cute. He loves his bed too.

I just love Walter, he looks like a dog that I would just want to spoil...you know, like I did sexy Rexy. I still have dreams that Rex is alive...so sad.
Anyway, that is funny that your mom had a room like that...I could never pull that off with 3 boys and a husband, although Kathleen would of gone along with it.

I'm glad they like their new beds! That's a great idea... wish Rocco and Jojo would stay on their beds if I got them one, but I doubt they would!

Nat, your cats are getting fat! (just like Spot.)

We got Spot a new bed too, because her favorite place to lay is on the dining room table, and I can't have that!

My Streusel and Fritz (my first two dachshunds) loved their beds and would sleep in them no matter where I put them. Liesel is another thing. I bought her a nice bed. She loved it. But, she flipped it over, broke the zipper and started shedding the foam. It's been put away until she outgrows this chewing/shredding stage.

Your cats are very cute. Walter is daper and a big Liesel with his coloring.

I'm glad the bed thing worked for you... Did you put nip or something in there to make them stay there? I ask b/c my cat A.K.A. the boss, steps over her bed to come onto mine (or anything else that isn't hers). Hilarious!

Hi! Found your blog through Rachael's. Love the pics of the kitties and Walter. We have a similar room that has our only "adult" furniture and the cats love to crawl all over it. We hardly ever use it, but I have to clean it thoroughly every time we have guests. Maybe I should try the cat bed idea!!!

Smart idea. I'm sure like you said, the couch will always get a visit from them once in a while. Putting the beds in the window was a good idea.
Hey, I may be coming to see you tomorrow. I am going to visit mom and thinking about staying with you Wed night so my drive on Thur isn't so long, Todd doesn't think he can come with, he is too busy working still. Do you want to take off a few days and come with me?
