You Might Live In Michigan...

This morning on the way to work the rear view mirror that houses the thermometer fluctuated between -15 & -21. It warmed up to a mere -17 degrees by noon; and now it's -1, 'feels like -19'. That's cold! (unless you live somewhere crazy like Alaska).
Francie sent me a forward this week about the crazy things you might see if you live in Michigan. I'll share with you the ones I've found to be true and then I made up a couple of my own:
Jeff Foxworthy says:
  • If your local Dairy Queen is closed from November through March, You might live in Michigan.
  • If you have worn shorts and a coat at the same time, you might live in Michigan.
  • "Vacation" means going up north on I-75.
  • You measure distance in hours. (mom, you do this too!)
  • You think owning a Honda is Un-American. (I can't help but think my sisters will laugh when they read this one.)
Here are a couple I came up with of my own to add to the list:
  • If your SUV looks like a conversion van, you might live in Michigan. (This is after brushing off what I can reach and driving around several days.)
  • If your Christmas tree is still on your front porch (because you are too cold and lazy on trash day to drag it out to the curb at 6am) but it is okay because its covered in snow and blends in with the bushes.

That's really funny; didn't know your suv could look so much like Ms. G's! LOL!

I wrote about the cold today too. It's miserable cold!!!

Only the east-side Michiganders think driving a Honda is unpatriotic. Over here, I'm okay! :)

See, I told you you are always having fun. Mud/ice bogging, recycling christmas trees, cleaning up after Walter. lol I'm so sorry y'all. I was helping a friend today clean out her barn and planting flower......... We were sweating. I kinda got sun burned on my shoulders and nose. I will definatly think about you tho when it is really cold there. Good ol' global warming in good ol' CA

At least your Christmas tree blends with the bushes. You should see what mine looks like on my front porch.
If you still have it there in March it has nothing to do with living in Michigan though:)

I'm glad everyone is still able to laugh about the Michigan weather. I've quit laughing. I haven't done anything this winter but shovel, shovel, shovel. My dog Bud can't even run throught the yard. The snow is too deep. David had to snow blow a huge area in the back so the poor dog can do his business. I keep thinking about a favorite poem. Spring has sprung, the grass has riz. I wonder where the flowers is?

Thanks for inviting me in to your blog, Natalie. :)
When we lived in Minnesota, it seemed like it was -20 all winter long but not so much snow. Everyone up north has had an unusually cold and snowy winter this year, it seems. Will, in Walla Walla says they have had a couple of feet of snow on the ground for a lot of this winter, which is really unusual.
