Lots of Reasons to be Happy

Last night my little niece Leah came over with her mom and her grandma, and her great grandmas to paint pottery with some ladies from the church. But she didn't have any interest in painting pottery, she wanted to be with her uncle instead. So Leah and Adam hung out together and played golf on xbox and watched the Pistons game. (Adam had a little help from the grandmas when she finally got board of her chair.) She is so cute in her chair, I had to try really hard not to laugh while I was recording this video.

The rest of us had a good time painting pottery. It was a lot of fun to have people over. With all the remodeling we've been doing we haven't been able to have people over (except family, they never shun a messy house.) Speaking of a messy house, I had an awesome surprise when I got home from work tonight. My mother-in-law has a key to my house...that could be a bad thing for some, but for me it means surprise house cleanings, homemade meals and clean laundry. All the laundry on the spare bed that I have been avoiding was folded and put into laundry baskets. All the beds were made, even mine and all the stuff I had left on the floor was put away. And when I got home from work yesterday, she had been to the pottery store and stocked my shelves so full of paint, it looked like I was running a store out of my house. Before I was married, I was under the impression that mother-in-laws were a bad thing, I guess I got lucky.

We have a really great group of ladies at our church. We had one person in particular who was especially entertaining... thanks to Jackie we all had several good laughs. And thanks to Dawn and again my mother-in-law we had lots of help prepping green ware/bisque. We will have to do this again sooner than later.

Funny, Todd and I went to Target tonight and bought that same chair for Anthony, before I read your blog. I actually have been wanting to buy him one for a while, but everytime I am at Target they only have pink ones. We bought a green one tonight.
I tried it out in the store before I bought it and he seemed to like it. Leah looks like she is about to outgrow hers.

I can't believe Julie cleaned your house, you are pretty lucky!

I've never heard of a MIL like that. You sure lucked out with such a gem. Does she want to come to CT to mine?

Looking forward to seeing pictures of the completed pottery.

Hi there! It took me a minute to figure out who you are, but I recognize your sister's children on your blog.
Yeah, I can see that my car is covered is covered in snow right now, but that's alright. I have completely brainwashed myself into Spring.

Sounds like you had fun. Sounds like Julie is doing a great job of being a mother-in-law.

The puppy that your mother found for me has the same coloring as Walter but is much, much smaller with short legs.

Your niece is so cute and she looks very content in her pink chair. I wish those chairs had been around when my daughter and granddaughters were infants.

I never heard mother-in-laws could be a bad thing...I don't think I make a bad one...guess there are a few good women. Hey, that should be a title of a movie!

Can't wait to see the finished products! You got very lucky with your MIL - mine was a nightmare (she is happily out of the picture).
